W4VEC Becomes The First VEC To File Club Callsign Modifications

High Point, NC (January 10, 2001) -- W4VEC, a leading Volunteer Examiner Coordinator and member of the National Volunteer Examiners Coordinators Program of the Federal Communications Commission, has recently filed the first modification of club callsigns with the FCC. 

The Chief Officer of W4VEC has Issued the following statement:

"As all of you know by now, the FCC has appointed three VEC's to begin
handling all renewals, modifications, new club callsigns, and RACES
modifications beginning January 22, 2001.

W4VEC filed the first application with the FCC for a modification on January
10th. The file was accepted and the grant made by the FCC computers.

This is to advise you that we can begin accepting those types of
applications to file beginning January 22nd.  We plan to have the new form
available on our website,
www.w4vec.com for downloading by the interested
parties.

W5YI and ARRL are the other two designated VEC's and will be able to
handle the same type filings as we.

Please note that the FCC will no longer accept forms via mail for these
changes after January 21, 2001.  They must be routed through one of the
listed VEC's."

W4VEC/VEC Names  Mr. Rae Everhart K4SWN, as W4VEC/VEC CSCSA Administrator.

Mr. Everhart has been named by Rae Everhart, Chief Officer as CSCSA. Mr. Everhart has been a VEC Officer, and has extensive experience in electronic filing, FCC-AR procedure, and W4VEC procedure.
